2. What this notice covers

This notice explains how we handle personal data in connection with:

  • the Easy HNS website;
  • the Easy HNS public DNS resolver service;
  • emails and other direct communications sent to us;
  • abuse, security and service integrity handling;
  • voluntary support contributions made through third-party platforms such as Whop.

The HNS DoH global pool is operated by the separate HNS DoH project, not by Easy HNS. Easy HNS terms, operational responsibility, support scope, and service commitments apply only to Easy HNS-operated services and do not extend to that external global pool.

3. The personal data we may process

A. DNS service data

Easy HNS is designed as a privacy-respecting public resolver and is intended not to keep routine persistent logs of identifiable DNS query activity as a normal operating practice.

To answer DNS requests, some technical data must still be processed transiently in operation, such as:

  • source IP address;
  • queried domain name;
  • query type;
  • protocol and connection metadata;
  • technical response or error state.

This processing is necessary for the resolver to function. However, Easy HNS is intended not to use this as a normal long-term retained history of identifiable user DNS activity, not to use it for profiling or advertising, and not to keep routine persistent query logs as a standard feature of the service.

Limited technical data may still exist temporarily in memory or short-lived operational handling while requests are being processed. In exceptional cases, limited technical information may also be handled where reasonably necessary for abuse prevention, fault diagnosis, service protection, security incidents, or legal compliance.

B. Website connection data

If you visit the Easy HNS website, limited technical connection data may be processed as needed to deliver the site securely and reliably, such as:

  • IP address;
  • browser or device type;
  • requested pages or files;
  • timestamps;
  • TLS and basic network metadata.

Easy HNS is intended not to use website traffic for behavioural advertising, profiling, or non-essential analytics by default.

C. Contact and correspondence data

If you email us or otherwise contact us, we may process:

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • the contents of your message;
  • attachments;
  • any information you choose to provide.

D. Abuse, security and incident data

If we receive an abuse report, legal request, or security complaint, we may process the information included in that report, along with related technical records reasonably necessary to investigate and respond.

E. Support contribution and payment-related data

If you choose to support Easy HNS through Whop or another third-party support platform, we may receive limited information relating to your support contribution, such as:

  • your name or username;
  • email address;
  • support tier or product selected;
  • transaction or subscription status;
  • renewal, cancellation, refund, or dispute status;
  • limited billing or location information made available to us by the platform;
  • support-related communications.

We do not store your full payment card details on the Easy HNS website.

4. How we collect personal data

We collect personal data:

  • directly from you when you use the resolver service;
  • directly from you when you contact us;
  • automatically through the operation of the website and network;
  • from third parties where they submit abuse reports, legal requests, or security notifications relating to the service;
